Proprietor Ashley Hanosh learned the workings of a classic dress shop at early age. Growing up in her mother's women's clothing store in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she spent after-school hours and summers exploring the stock, a dream for any style minded little girl. It was the '80s. Fashion was fun, vivid, individual - all the things that Hanosh looks for today when choosing pieces to hang on the racks in her own store.

Opened by Hanosh in 2006, Honey in the Rough revolves around the central building block of women's fashion - the dress! With an impeccably edited selection of frocks at the fore, Hanosh curates a decidedly global mix of special things from the chicest locations on earth. A stop at the store or journey through the web site can yield a prim dress from Brooklyn, a colourful wallet from Tokyo, fresh cologne from London, vibrant nail polish from Germany or natural shampoo from Amazon.

After several years working in San Fransisco as a makeup artist and cosmetics industry executive, Hanosh landedn in NYC and quickly found her place in storied Lower East Side shopping community. Hanosh and her staff act as personal stylists, pulling pieces specially suited to each customesr's figure, lifestyle and individual attitude. She remains happily perched in her Rivington Street haven, ever ready with intuitive personal style advice, insider beauty tips and an incandescent smile.
